WPLJ’s Jayde Donovan To Launch ‘Jayde’ On Westwood One [RadioInsider]

Jayde Donovan, co-host of “Todd & Jayde in the Morning” on Cumulus Media hot AC WPLJ New York (95.5), is launching a new Westwood One-syndicated weekend program. “Jayde” will debut April 14 on 50 stations nationwide, including her home station WPLJ, and Cumulus CHR sisters stations “Hot 93.3” KLIF Dallas, “104 KRBE” Houston and “Q-100” WWWQ Atlanta.

The three-hour Saturday morning program is described in a release as “upbeat, fun and empowering” and will target “the fierce, fabulous women who are doing it all–even if that means they are still wearing yesterday’s make-up while driving carpool to soccer practice.”

Donovan, who also hosts “Westwood One Backstage,” said, “I grew up feeling inspired by strong women; I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for them… I feel very strongly about bringing to light the misconceptions of what it means to ‘have it all together.’ Women put too much pressure on themselves, and that’s what I am here for–to keep it real.”

The show will be a mix of interviews with celebrity moms, inspirational real-life stories and music.

Donovan said her goal with the new weekly program “is to reach people from all walks of life, encourage them to be their best self and remind them to have fun on this journey no matter what life throws at you.”
